DAY 6

5th to 7th place (Men’s): 9:00 – BRAZIL 39 – 21 INDIA

In a dominant performance, Brazil secured a decisive 39-21 victory over India in the playoff for 5th to 7th place. The match, which kicked off at 9:00, saw Brazil’s team demonstrating superior skill and coordination. India’s efforts to counter were consistently thwarted by Brazil’s robust defense and strategic plays.

FINAL (Women’s): 10:00 – FRANCE 24 – 32 SPAIN

Spain triumphed over France in a thrilling match with a score of 32-24, a game truly worthy of a final. Spain’s impeccable defense set the tone, starting the game with higher intensity and quickly facing several exclusions, a clear sign of the high stakes. They fine-tuned their energy, and goalkeeper Marta Mera delivered an outstanding performance. France struggled to find clear shooting opportunities, leading to frustration on their bench. By halftime, Spain led 16-9, and the second half followed the same pattern. France attempted to play with seven against six, but even this strategy failed to close the gap. A remarkable victory for “Las Guerreras”.

5th to 7th place (Women’s): 11:15 – NETHERLANDS 42 – 23 CHILE

In the 5th to 7th place match in the women’s category, the Netherlands defeated Chile with a score of 42-23. The game started at 11:15 and showcased the Netherlands’ strong performance, securing a comfortable victory over Chile.

FINAL (Men’s): 13:00 – POLAND 30 – 33 SPAIN

A thrilling match marked the end of this wonderful event. The Championship ends as it began, with a Poland – Spain match, but very different from the first day. This time, Poland was much more cohesive and Spain was very confident in all their actions. In the first half, the lead alternated, but soon Spain started to dominate, with a very fluid attack and a solid defense. Some players, like Poland’s No. 9, managed to score with some ease, but on the other end, the Polish defense couldn’t deactivate the connection between the first line and the Spanish pivot No. 4, where No. 9 Gorka Nieto feinted past the weak defense and penetrated with some ease. In the second half, Spain pulled ahead on the scoreboard, and it seemed everything was decided, but a final push from Poland tightened a score that was always dominated by Spain.
